AR Rahman’s Phildaus Orchestra kicks off at Dubai 2020 Expo

Hyderabad: The Phildaus Orchestra, an all-female music ensemble led by the Academy and Grammy Award-winning composer AR Rahman, kicks off Space Week at the Expo 2020 on Saturday at 8:40 pm Indian Standard Time. Close.

The orchestra renders a space-themed repertoire of Western classical music and original compositions by Rahman.

The Phildaus Orchestra, led by conductor Yasmina Saba, represents the musical talent of the Arab world, and the one-hour performance includes the theme of 2001: A Space Odyssey, “Zaratustra is again” by Star Wars. It also features a grand finale performance by Karl Jenkins’s “Palladio”, Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5”, and AR Rahman’s exclusive new composition “Humanitas-Proorismós-Al Amal” by the composer.
